As Robert Sessley Jr. reflects on the past year, he’s amazed and proud of the team he has developed. A strong team is crucial to a successful, sustainable business, and he feels the current Sessley Building Services team is hardworking, talented and dedicated to upholding the high standards the company has had from the beginning.
“This time last year, we only had 1-3 employees,” says Robert Sessley Jr. “Now, we have around 13. This team is very solid, and I really love that they all seem like they are going to stick around and help grow the company.”
When looking for new team members, one thing is very clear: finding individuals whose vision for the company aligns with his, is key.
“When I’m looking for a new person to add to the team, as we’re having those initial conversations, I tell them the story of Sessley Building Services and what I’m trying to do here. Then I feel out the vibe. I believe that this is more than a 9 to 5 job, it’s an incredible opportunity. I like to see that someone feels inspired by that. And that’s the feeling I get from my current team. We have great synergy.”
As he continues to build his dream team, Sessley Building Services also continues to earn important certifications that are opening doors for the company. Most recently, they received MBE certification from the city of Columbus, a great accomplishment for a company that is highly focused on driving home the idea that inclusion is an economic investment.
Robert Sessley Jr. is also pleased with the current status of Sessley Building Services ongoing projects. One that he finds especially noteworthy is a project with the Economic and Community Development Institute (ECDI). Currently, that project is ahead of schedule, on budget and receiving great reviews from the customer.
According to Sessley Jr., “This project is really impressing me. The Sessley Building Services superintendent on this project is one of the best I’ve ever worked with. Overall, it feels like a win-win for everyone involved.”
As Sessley Building Services continues to get more projects and contracts. Sessley Jr. can’t help but feel excited about the future. “I feel very blessed,” he says. “I’m excited to watch Sessley Building Services just get better and better.”
