DAVE DENUNE
PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT
Why or how did you get into construction:
My older brother was in construction and I wanted to work with him, so I attended the Licking County Joint Vocational Building Trades and accepted an apprenticeship with his company.
First project you were a part of:
The first project I managed was Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, Ohio. It was a 6-story addition to their existing hospital.
The best part of your job:
Meeting new clients and building relationships. I also appreciate that each job presents new challenges and obstacles to overcome, and I can use that knowledge for other jobs.
What do you like about Central Ohio:
I like that Columbus and surrounding areas are constantly growing and improving, however I love rural areas that have a small-town feel.
The best compliment anyone could give you:
Every time a client expresses appreciation and gratitude.
Define Building Excellence:
It is not just getting the job done. It is getting it done on time/early, going above and beyond, and making sure to meet or exceed our client’s expectations.
Hobbies:
My hobbies include camping and whatever project I have going on out in the garage, although most of my free time is spent at some form of ball field watching my boys.
Best advice you’ve ever received:
Lead by example, and treat every job as if it were your home.
